Meet Jessica
Jessica Bowen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in trauma-informed, nonjudgmental mental health support for children and families. Originally from the United States, Jessica is an expat currently living in Bangkok, Thailand, and has previously lived in Jamaica and Bangladesh. She holds a Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and is licensed to provide independent clinical therapy in the states of Illinois and Michigan. Her clinical expertise is rooted in a deep understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and specialized medical social work.
Jessica has a wealth of experience in high-stakes clinical environments, including her time as a Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Social Worker at St. Jude Children’s Hospital and as a NICU Family Support Specialist at both University of Illinois Chicago Hospital and Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital. In these roles, she dedicated herself to helping families navigate the complex emotions surrounding life-altering medical diagnoses, grief, and bereavement. Her work is further distinguished by her credentials in Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health and her certification as a NIDCAP Professional, which allow her to offer support in early parenting and the intricacies of early childhood development.
After spending the past four years as an International School Counselor, Jessica has developed a unique perspective on the transitions and challenges faced by global families. She also continues her dedicated involvement with the Truman Group, where she provides evidence-based, trauma-informed behavioral healthcare for expatriates living abroad. Her approach remains deeply grounded in neuro-affirming modalities and individualized care strategies that address the specific needs of children, adolescents, and adults. Whether facilitating mindfulness-based interventions or supporting families through the heaviest seasons of loss and transition, Jessica remains committed to fostering resilience and well-being through expert clinical practice.
